Maelstrom was founded in 1998 as a print journal of edgy poetry, fiction, photography and art.  Our little journal has found its way into the permanent poetry collections at several universities and colleges including The Harris Collection of American Poetry and Plays at Brown University Library, the library at George Washington University, The University of Wisconsin Library and others.  Although some well known talents have graced our pages, we truly enjoy publishing new writers, artists and photographers and welcome submissions from everyone.  We believe strongly in continuing the tradition of printed journals, although we may offer a digital downloadable version as well in the future.
